The RaceTEX (RTX) Products Story

“Glass Pack” exhaust systems became popular in the 1950’s.  With clear technical and performance advantages, glass packs had one major disadvantage when compared to traditional mechanically baffled mufflers and silencers, that being the durability of the glass fiber. Many types of fiberglass insulation will mechanically and thermally break down prematurely, leading to unwanted sound levels and reduction in engine performance. 

Bristol Core’s (BCI’s) roots are that of it’s owner Morgan Curtice. Morgan grew up with a love of dirt bikes and power sports in general, along with long family traditions of practical problem solving and pride in manufacturing done well. The appreciation he has for his father and grandfather’s lives spent in engineering, R&D and production at Eastman Kodak, Xerox and Gleasons in nearby Rochester, NY continue to shape BCI’s identity.

Since it’s founding in 2007, BCI has embraced the perspectives that there is always a way to do the job better and that we work for our customers. There is always more to understand about the problems we are addressing for our customers, especially regarding improvements in material performance, durability and sound attenuation, while always seeking simple and effective manufacturing advantages.

Today BCI reflects these values and goals as it pursues current technical, environmental and economic challenges for all of its customers.

Developing and manufacturing our RaceTEX Brand Products has led to the highest performance and most durable thermal acoustical exhaust system insulation products on the market today.

So what makes RaceTEX Products so different? 

The answer is the four unique elements, the raw materials, second is the manufacturing process, third is BCI’s design and testing and finally 20 years of proven performance. 

1. All RaceTEX products are manufactured in the USA

Manufactured in-house, using proprietary developed processes in our facility in Canandaigua, NY. As the only North American manufacture of high temperature, thermal acoustical insulation packing systems, we ensure the quality, and consistency needed to meet the demanding requirements for these high- performance exhaust application.

2. Customized for unique designs and performance

RaceTEX products are designed, tested and customized for each exhaust manufacturer’s unique designs and performance requirements. We not only focus on the acoustical and thermal insulation properties, but durability factors including temperature and pressure extremes, but also installation fit, and ease with preforms parts in very complex muffler configurations.

3. Over the Past 20 years BCI has manufactured hundreds of thousands of parts

For exhaust systems used by OEMs, custom manufactures, and DIY aftermarkets, for consumer automobile & trucks, Racing Car, Motorcycles to powersport vehicles of every type.
